Letters from Angie's Mailbag

Dear Angie...

Mrs. Hunt, I just wanted to say how much I have loved reading your Keepers of the Ring series.  I have just begun my 7th time reading them.  I started reading the series when I was 12 yrs old (14 yrs ago) and it was the spark that lit my passion for literature.  I struggled with the desire to read anything before and after reading the series, I couldn't read enough!  Through this I grew to love the study of English and sentence structure!  I graduated from Warner University (Lake Wales, FL) in 2008 with a B.A. in Contemporary Literary Studies.  I also was accepted into Oxford University (Oxford, UK) for one term, through a study abroad program.  I cannot tell you how thankful I am that God led you to write.  Your books were a huge turning point in my life that has led me down a wonderful path.  If not for your books, I may not have discovered my love of literature and therefore would have never ventured to study English.  I praise God for your ministry of writing and thank you for sharing your gift with people like me.  May God continue to bless your work!

 Dear Angie...

Wow talk about a book going full circle. I found a book (The Note) in my mom's bedside table after she died and in it was a note from me telling her to read the book. The note indicated that she would understand by the end why I thought it was important for her to read. I didn't remember the story but it has taken me 3 years to get around to reading the book because I wanted to remember why I thought it would be important to my mom. Well I finished the book this afternoon and I feel the need to write and thank-you! You see I am adopted and the character Lila totally explained my reasons for wanting to find my bio parents. Which I had done in 2000. So based on the copyright in the book and remembering that my mom was a bit upset (fearful, actually) about my contact with the biological parents this book gave me a way to express to her that she was everything I ever needed or wanted in a mom and that the main reason for locating the bio mom was to thank her for putting me where I really belonged. Reading this book again 3 years after my mom's death really made me aware how much I miss her yet also strengthened my faith that she isn't gone forever. I am amazed that reading this book could make me feel this close to my mom, a reminder that she is still part of who I am and will never really be gone. So THANK-YOU!

Dear Angie...

Let Darkness Come -- Some book!  Whew, I'm glad I finished it, but sorry, too.  Didn't want to put it down.  I'm a writer by trade - reporter - and I was impressed by all the research you did to "get it right."  Thank you for caring and for writing.  Keep them coming!
